Sure, you have taken a few lessons with friends and you know the basics. But now what? It can be hard to find games available and your new mahjong skills won't be able to be used. Online play is great practice, but there is nothing quite like playing in person. Isn't that why most of us want to play in the first place? We want to get off- line and do something fun IRL.

​

The Missy Mahjong social mahjong clubs offered a way to practice and ask questions to other mahjong players. These clubs were designed to be for practice and offer friendly games to all levels of mahjong expertise. These were NOT mahjong tournaments or leagues.

 

As a beginner, social clubs were great opportunities to master the Charleston. If you were an experienced mahjong player, this was the opportunity to come and only play concealed hands.

 

These social clubs were a great way for every level to practice something new.

Meet new players

Missy Mahjong social clubs were located in three destination markets: Nashville, Chicago and Lake Geneva. All three of these destinations have strong mahjong followings and tourists. Missy Mahjong never hosted tournaments or leagues, so it was always just a casual drop in.

​

Players at the social club came to meet other mahjong enthusiasts.

 

Missy Mahjong's social clubs did it all- connected American mahjong players that formed other mahjong groups, players that started leagues and teachers that started mahjong businesses.

​Maybe you wanted to learn to play two- player or three player or (gasp!) try a game with blanks. These social clubs were the perfect place to learn from tournament masters, teachers, other beginners and people that have been playing for 40 years.

Try out new tiles, cards and accessories

​

Mahjong is a game of strategy and luck, but for players like Missy Mahjong, it is an aesthetic game! It seems like there is a new tile set launched every day and mats and racks to match.

 

Missy Mahjong social clubs offered show-and-tell open plays, so you could try that new set you have been eyeing or see if your pink tiles will go with a new mat. We were never sponsored by any one line, so players experienced the best tiles from The Mahjong Line, My Fair Mahjong, Oh My Mahjong, Bespoke Mahjong, Bam! Let's Mahjong and many others.

Missy Mahjong Social Clubs were the perfect opportunity to play with alternative cards. Missy always had extra cards on hand so your table can try out one of the exciting new cards.
